OUR STORY
Founder and Editor - Dr Helen Phillips, BSc, MPlan, PhD
A-Z Proofreading has successfully helped students, academics and businesses refine theses, thesis proposals, journal articles, conference papers, book chapters, industry reports, magazine articles, local authority reports and more. Our clients are located internationally and are from a variety of disciplines.
We were founded by Dr Helen Phillips, who started proofreading in 2009 during her Master’s Degree in Urban Planning. Her PhD, gained in Oxford, UK, focused on climate change and the built environment, and she taught on urban planning and architecture degree courses during this time. She has published a variety of her own research in academic journals and magazines, and therefore has an excellent understanding of what it takes to write, review and ultimately successfully publish a research paper.
Helen has worked as a researcher, as a heritage consultant and in the green building industry in the UK and Canada. For 4 years she developed her interest in education as Director of Education and Programming for Heritage Vancouver Society, Canada.
